An MOT test takes around 45 minutes, during which time the tester will check the roadworthiness of your car, assessing all its electrical equipment, steering, tyres (including tread depth, pressure and condition), and suspension.
During the MOT, important parts on your vehicle will be checked to make sure they meet the legal standards.
You can watch the test from a viewing area but you’re not allowed to interrupt the tester.
The MOT test checks that your vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards.
You must get an MOT for your vehicle by either:
MOT test is carried out to the bare minimum standards, which means for example if the tyre is almost bold but not actually bold and it’s carrying out its purpose then it will be classed as a pass because it is within the minimum limits, so once you have had an MOT test carried out and if it has been issued with a pass certificate and has advisories on there then please look to get the advisories repaired at your earliest convenience.
